Cleaning and Caring for Your School Bag
We recommend washing your backpack by hand with a mild liquid detergent. If you choose to use a washing machine, place the backpack inside a pillowcase to prevent the straps from getting caught, and select a gentle program. Please note that any damage caused by machine washing is not covered by the warranty.
Before washing, please check if any of the items below are relevant to your backpack:
1. Rain Cover and Back Support (almost all backpacks):
Remove both before washing. The aluminium back support is located inside the backpack, against the back, and can be pulled upwards. Remember to reinstall it in the correct direction afterwards. The rain cover is usually placed in the lid, a side pocket, or the bottom.
2. Buttons (Classic, Classic Maxi and Active Air FLX):
These backpack models come with Velcro-attached buttons. Remove them before washing.
3. Blinking Light (Classic):
Some Classic models have a blinking light. Remove it before washing by unscrewing the small screw, twisting it, and removing the battery.
4. Air Cushion (Sport Air and Active Air FLX):
Remove before washing.
Drying & Re-impregnation
Let the backpack air dry. We do not recommend using a tumble dryer.
After washing, we recommend re-impregnating your backpack to restore water resistance (note: does not apply to Street products). Staff at a shoe or sports store can help you choose the right impregnation product. Be aware that some sprays may stain, particularly on dark fabrics. Always test on a small, discreet area first, and follow the instructions on the bottle.
Special care for Street products
Backpacks from our Street series are especially sensitive. For these, do not handwash or machine wash. Instead, use a soft, damp cloth (without any detergent or soap) to gently wipe away stains or watermarks. Please note that any damage caused by the use of soap, liquid detergent, washing powder, or by machine washing is not covered under warranty. Our recommendation on re-impregnation also does not apply to Street products.
